Begin with the basics and analyze how you can use socially innovative solutions to local and global problems. This a foundation session  explores the language of social impact and examples of how social change can happen. This will prepare you for conversations at our Careers with Purpose events where our guests, living books, will share their stories of making social impact.

Take part in a workshop where you will develop a sustainable business strategy that creates value for people and planet. You will examine the ecosystems and identify potential systems change. You’ll learn how social enterprises expand the thinking beyond a single bottom line. We will start with the lexicon and quickly move into real examples that will change your perspective on what’s possible.

Apr 6, 2018 - Road Trip to Mars

Join us and learn about the significance of this Discovery District and how multi-sector partners can come together to have an impact. We will tour the complex then you’ll be introduced to organizations residing at MaRS that support social innovation either as funders, consultants or as social enterprises. There will be time to meet and greet some of the employees and ask questions about their journey and discuss how social innovation is woven into the workplace.

As student changemakers you will get a chance to meet individuals who are helping Toronto become more accessible and tackling mental health issues, among others.

With focused sessions on specific topics like going global, social justice, funding and many more, participants connected with people who are working on various facets of social innovation at UofT.

Jun 27, 2016 - Exploring Social Innovation @ UofT

This was an exclusive event on campus for 60 stakeholders within the University and selected partners. It explored what social innovation is and could be at UofT. This conference surfaced activities, facilitated collaborations and raised the profile of this type of work. It was a precursor to a larger conference in the fall.
