Social Innovation focusing Mobility, Public Realm, Buildings & Housing, Sustainability and Digital Innovation

During this Road Trip a small group of students will meet up at Innis College and then make their way to Sidewalk Labs.

  • Part 1: We start with introductions and some background on what Sidewalk Labs is, Sidewalk Toronto and the proposal to the City of Toronto, the partnerships involved and overall mission.
  • Part 2: This is a deeper dive into some of the Urban Innovations and their impact on the city.  We will see how social impact is measured through outcomes.
  • Part 3: Now we switch the focus to Sidewalk Labs as a place to work looking at the types of roles, how many people are employed, what skill sets and experience levels are represented. We can get an understanding of what it is like to work in this kind of environment.

Ending: At noon we end our formal visit and as a group go for lunch. This is optional but allows participants to reflect and share insights.

Students are encouraged to read about Sidewalk Labs ahead of this trip https://www.sidewalktoronto.ca/.

Given the overwhelming response to this Road Trip we may be running another trip in January. So register for the wait list and we'll keep you informed.
